About the kitchen

The kitchen and adjoining formal dining room are approximately 1500 sq ft. The kitchen is truly state of the art with the following appliances:

  • Subzero full refrigerator and 2 refrigerator drawers
  • 2 under counter Subzero freezer drawers
  • Wolf warming drawer
  • Wolf microwave
  • Wolf Commercial Hood
  • Wolf dual fuel 60" gas range with 6 burners
  • griddle and grill and electric convection double ovens
  • Dual temperature Subzero Wine refrigerator with 2 beverage drawers
  • Subzero Ice Maker
  • WMF fully automatic cappuccino/latte machine (The best automatic machine available)
  • 4 dishwashers - 3 Fisher-Paykel, and 1 Asko
  • three hammered Nickel over copper sinks
  • a 16' by 8' granite island and backsplashes and exquisite cabinetry and molding from Apple Valley Millworks.

In the spring, the patio outside the kitchen will be complete and will feature all Wolf appliances - grill, burner, ice maker, refrigerator, etc. The kitchen store sells CIA - 7 Layer cookware, cutlery and utensils as well as Juliska handmade china and glassware, Riedel wine glasses, Proteak cutting boards, Emile Henry cookware and pizza stones, and Mauviel copper cookware. We also carry tasty treats from Foxy Gourmet, Ivy Cottage and Mary Lake Thompson. We have a number of staff chefs who offer hands on cooking lessons and a great meal to follow. The formal dining room and the kitchen are available for private cooking lesson parties. The full facility will be available for larger parties in the near future - bridal or baby showers, rehearsal dinners, girl's or guy's night out, surprise parties, small weddings and fund raising events.

Cancellation Policy for Cooking Classes/Dinners:
You may cancel your registration for a class up to 72 hours in advance of the class starting time and receive a transfer to another class of equal value. To cancel a registration, contact the Culinary Manager (Rachel, Sherry or Mary) by calling 203-528-0130, Monday-Friday between 10-5pm. No refund or exchanges will be given on classes that are cancelled less than 72 hours prior to the class. The Kitchen at Whittemore Crossing reserves the right to cancel any class that fails to attract sufficient enrollment, chef illness or inclement weather. We will contact you by email or telephone and issue a full refund or you may request to be transferred to another class of your choice (depending on availability). If you miss a class due to weather-related concerns, our standard cancellation policy applies.
